Kalachakra Mandala - "Wheel of Time" - Feb 5

Today Lobsang continued to work on the Mandala of Enlightened Speech adding an extraordinary amount of fine detail. The outer rim is ornamented with strands of pearls which decorate the inner walls of this floor of the Kalachakra Palace.

Above that in the red is a rosary of precious jewels. In the white layer next to that are the 36 Sanskrit seed syllables which represent offering goddesses. In the corner is a double vajra with a blue center surrounded by  red, yellow, white and black.

In the center of this shot is the northern (white) gate to the Mandala of Enlightened Speech. The three tiered gate has 9 chambers which contain white dots representing playful deities. Flanking the sides of the gate on the second level are two pink figures. These are the strong men who help to support the gate to the Enlightened Mind. The elephants on the first level also serve the same purpose, and these represent empty form.
