The lhanam of the Mandala of Enlightened Body is populated by the twelve animals that carry lotus representing the lunar months. The red color used is symbolic of the energy of the sun and is identified with the female essence. White is symbolic of the energy of the moon and is identified with the male essence. The red and white color scheme of this lhanam is opposite and complimentary to the lotus colors used in the lhanam of the Mandala of Enlightened Mind.
