Today Losang added the lower two rims in the image below. These are the outer edges of the Mandala of Enlightened Speech. The deep blue represents the sky, and the white lines forming triangles are decorative yet also represent downspouts that release rainwater from the palace roof. Below that is a white parapet with the design of a half lotus outlined in black. This symbolizes protection from afflictive emotions and fortifies against obstacles.
Losang says that the Bidwell Mansion in Chico, California is a good representation of some of the same architectural principles used In the Kalachakra Palace. Look at the mansion when you drive by it, and see for yourself!
